At Sea Tow, we’re all about helping people. There’s no better personification of that drive to always be there when boaters need it most than Captain Nik Foster of Sea Tow Daytona.

Growing up just miles away from the Sea Tow franchise he’s now owned for the past five years, Captain Nik always had a love for the water. Whether it was surfing, boating or just being out on the beach, he’s always felt most at-home when that subtle scent of nearby saltwater wafts through the Florida air.

However, as time went by, Nik began to grow apart from the waters he loved so dearly. Upon graduating from the University of Florida, Nik took a job 200 miles south of his hometown, working as a sales rep in West Palm Beach; but, that drive to be out on the water grew inside him. As time went on, his urge to help people became larger and more prominent.

“The idea of being in a suit and tie everyday haunted me,” he said. “I’ve always loved the idea of helping people on the water, so I never quite felt at-ease in in an office.”

So, when the opportunity arose to take over his hometown Sea Tow franchise, Nik didn’t hesitate. It was a match made in heaven.

For the last five years, Captain Nik and his wife Ashley have helped grow Sea Tow Daytona/Ponce/New Smyrna into the local boating staple it is today. Helping people just runs in their genes. Outside of Sea Tow, Ashley works as a guidance council at a charter school for parenting teens and Nik serves as a lifeguard on the local Daytona beaches. But they’re not stopping there.

“We’re always trying to help the community in whatever ways we can,” Nik said. “Whether that’s through toy drives, fishing seminars or helping the thousands of boats that grace our waterways, we want to do as much as we can to give back to our hometown.”

With Daytona’s popularity among tourists and other weekend warriors, there’s never a dull moment at Sea Tow Daytona, but for Captain Nik and his crew, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

“It’s so fulfilling turning someone’s bad day into a good one,” Nik added. “I may not get much free time, but you just can’t beat that feeling you get after helping turn someone’s day around.”
